For whatever reason, there are images I perennially find myself returning to, as well as images that have broken-into these regular themes, perhaps never to be repeated. The following paintings occupy this later category. On one hand, these are thematic outliers, and yet there is even here much continuity in palette, composition, and technique. Style, after all, is simply the product of the worn floor in front of the easel.
